Hello!
My name is Rachel and I love to create stories. I’m a graduate of Oakland University and have a Bachelor’s degree in English. Additionally, I have a minor in Japanese as well as TESL (Teaching English as an Second Language) certification.
I’ve been writing stories since I was kid, but I got my first taste of journalism while working for my high school newspaper, The Observer. During my college career, from August 2013 to April 2014, I worked as a copy editor for The Oakland Post. As a copy editor I proofread stories and used the computer software, InDesign, to create layout and place stories/pictures on the pages.
In 2013, I decided to share my passion for reading through a book blog and so I created, Life of a Female Bibliophile. There, I focus on reviewing books, talk about literary topics, and discuss book releases.
Currently, I am a freelance writer for Digital First Media, where I write various articles on local arts and entertainment stories based in the communities of the Oakland and Macomb County areas (of Michigan) .
