Hello readers! I love listening to podcasts at work, home, and while on-the-go. Today I’m sharing even more of my favorite bookish podcasts with you. I hope you enjoy these picks!
That Wasn’t In My Texbooks

The weekly podcast that helps us uncovers the things we always wish you learned from that boring bulky textbook.
That Wasn’t In My Textbook podcast was founded on the belief that history is not boring and focuses on things we should have learned in school and/or are important. It’s refreshing and interesting to listen to this podcast. So many times in school the same information was regurgitated over and over again. This is a great podcast for those who want to educate themselves more about the history that surrounds us.
Tales

You think you know the story…But do you really? Tales presents ancient fairy tales the way they were originally told: orally, and unadulterated.
I love classic fairy tales and storytelling podcasts! I saw this podcast being recommended on Buzzfeed years ago and I’m glad I gave it a listen! The host has such a good narration voice and truly brings each story to life. I also enjoy that the podcast gives the historical context about the story’s background.
Two Princes

The Two Princes is a scripted fantasy action adventure podcast from Gimlet Media. The story focuses on two princes from warring kingdoms who become unwitting allies when they journey into a mysterious forest in order to try and save their realms. Along the way, the two heroes fall in love with each other.
I binged all three seasons in a day of this podcast! This is a great podcast if you need something to listen to while you work or while taking a break from a book. I found this podcast to be entertaining and I loved the voice acting cast and the story has lots of action, fantasy elements, romance, and comedy.
Mangasplaining

Curious about manga but don’t know where to start? Well neither does comics writer/artist Chip Zdarsky! Join manga experts Deb Aoki, David Brothers, and Christopher Butcher, as they introduce the medium to Chip (and to you!) through some of its best and most important works. Every week a new volume of manga to re-discover, discuss, and enjoy!
It has such delightful hosts and I love the variety of manga covered in their show. I think the discussions of each volume of manga are entertaining and gives a new take on manga that I’ve previously read in the past. I’ve each found some new series I want to try from listening to the podcast. Most of the episodes (the ones I’ve listened to) aren’t very spoiler-heavy which is really nice.
Nightlight
Creepy stories with full audio production written by Black writers and performed by Black actors.
If you enjoy spooky stories around the campfire this podcast is the one for you. I don’t read too much horror fiction, but I love to find new horror podcasts. Some stories have ghosts, others feature the walking undead, and some have things that go bump in the night. I enjoy that it’s narrated by the authors themselves or Black actors. It’s a spine-tingling podcast for sure
